luckely (or unlucky for me), you can't win cases like that in Holland. Besides, how could these places be held responsible for someone falling out a window she isn't supposed to be crawling out of or tripping over your child or your own spilled soda.. maybe that stella case holds a bit of water but still why blame the store? You know the coffee is hot. Even if the botom of your cup broke and the coffee burnt you i still wouldnt blame the store, it's just bad luck. Now if it turns out someone was careless like knowing there was a broken cup, then you'd have a point. People shouldn't be blaming everbody for stupid things they do themselfs, or even bad things just happening, shit happens. By giving away money to people actually stupid enough to do the things stated above, your not only acting stupid yourself, but also approving this behaviour.
People need to start thinking for themselfs again.

or.. all these cases aren't true :)

ps, coffee needs to be hot when made.. who wants a cup of halfwarm coffee anayway?

You might want to know the rest of the story about "Stella" for whom this section was named for. Of course putting coffee between your legs isn't smart, but the burns she received were 3rd degree and extensive to her vaginal area. I saw the pictures and you would have been horrified at how badly she was burned. But the rest of the story so to speak is that there have been reports and law suits in the past, numbering in the thousands and thousands to lower the heat on the coffee being served and nothing was ever done because the stores felt their clients wanted the hottest coffee they could make. Stick your hand under 160 or 170 degree water and see what happens. You can sterilize dishes at 140 degrees. Many accidents were not the customers fault but spilled on drive up customers by accident. You really had to know the entire story behind this one.
